When to use a Finisher in Destiny 2

Ivan Perisic 3 min read

In the video game, Destiny 2, players have a lot of choices when it comes to choosing their weapons. But for some gamers, the weapon they choose isn’t enough. In order to ensure victory against their opponents, these players use what are called finishers. A player can initiate a finisher by hitting an opponent with a melee attack while that opponent is in the air or after being knocked down from a Super ability’s ground slam. The result is usually death for one player and blood-pumping celebration for the other. However, using this technique does come with risks: if you miss your opportunity to kill your opponent during your combo chain before he gets back up again then you’ll be vulnerable as well!

Finishers are best used when enemies are weak but it can be tough to remember to use your finisher consistently. So, here are some tips (some of which apply to other gameplay mechanics as well) on how you can make sure that you’re using your finishers enough in Destiny 2:

Don’t always go for the first kill

Destiny 2 has particular conditions for the enemy that will grant you an instant kill. One such condition is if your opponent goes down to a certain amount of health, this is known as “lethal damage”. This is usually displayed in red but you’ll know when it happens during your battle because the last shot before their health dropped to lethal levels will be a headshot! The other, more common way to get a kill, is if your opponent cannot defend themselves during the finishing blows. If your enemy is getting back up anytime soon after you knock them down then it’s probably not worth using any finishers .

Take advantage of being outnumbered!

Every fight in Destiny 2 can go either way or last for hours depending on how you play. However, you can bet that there will be times when your team is outnumbered by the enemy. That’s right! Avoid getting hit until your opponents are finished with their attacks and then attack them all together! Then, use a finisher on the last one standing for an easy kill.

Know which finishers you have

Every type of weapon has its own specific finisher. Knowing which finishers are available to you can save you some time when thinking of combos during heated battles! Not all of them will be useful in every situation but knowing that your Sunshot Exotic Hand Cannon has both a Vortex and Solar-type finisher gives players more options for their combos.

Learn to aim your melee attacks

Having an extended reach with your melee attack can help you finish the fight faster! This is because hitting your opponent with a two-hit combo will immediately trip him if it’s done correctly. Once they fall, strike them again quickly and you’ve got yourself a finisher !

Make moves over mistakes

Remember that it takes more than one mistake to kill an opponent so don’t be too hard on yourself if you didn’t get the perfect finisher. Keep practicing and time it right, and you’ll eventually get the hang of your favorite combos and possibly even finish off your enemies!

How to do a finisher in destiny 2

In Destiny 2, there are a few ways to do a finisher. The easiest way is to wait for your opponent to be weakened and then use a melee attack while they’re in the air or after being knocked down. You can also use your Super ability’s ground slam to initiate a finisher. Just make sure you time it correctly so that you deal the most damage possible.
