Introduction
A popular feature on the NA/EU servers is AFK arena, a “feature” where hunters can automatically train their pets while afk. From what I’ve been told on the forums, Blizzard does not intend for this to be possible and it has a high chance of being removed in a future patch.
So what do you need for enhanced afk arena?
-Preferably, a laptop/ultrabook or another computer to play on. Personally, I use my laptop for everything and keep my desktop in one room with an extra monitor to run WoW. If you’re feeling generous, feel free to donate it to me >.<
-A hunter that has unlocked all pet skills.
-At least one max level (preferably flying) battle pet with the ability to kill anything in the game, like a scarab or dragonfly.
-Food/sundries (optional). If you’re feeling generous, feel free to donate it to me >.< I personally use this for convenience because I have a lot of pets I don’t use often.
-A program that can run in the background and click for you.
So, How to enhance Gear Afk Arena?
Step 1: Summon your pet that can kill everything in the game. You can summon it on your main computer or alt, doesn’t matter.
Step 2: Put up any single target ability (Kill command is best) and use an ability like Arcane shot to keep the target at 1HP.
Step 3: Click on your other monitor and keep your eyes peeled on your ability timers.
Step 4: When you see it’s time to use a finishing move, click the “Turn” button under Auto-Learn Skills in your pet tab.
Step 5: You should be basically AFK from now on, but there are certain things that might interfere with this. First of all, keep your pet at 100% health (use Mend Pet to do this). Secondly, if your computer turns off for any reason, your pet will die. Finally, don’t forget to click “Turn” after you eat or drink.
Additional tips on how to How to enhance Gear Afk Arena
-If you’re not on a laptop and want to do this, you can unplug your computer and move it somewhere else where it won’t turn off. I’m talking about the computer, not the monitor.
-Your pets will still attack anything that moves or does damage to them (not abilities or DoTs). If your pet dies, it’s better to summon another one than try to revive it.
-If your pet is stunned or something you can still click on abilities as long as the spell is visible on the screen. It will automatically use Kill Command when it’s off cooldown.
-If you do this at 95% turn speed with an arcane shot timer, you might as well be afk. If your pets is a higher level than the mob, it doesn’t matter how many hits it takes to kill a target.
-If you don’t see a cooldown timer under any of your abilities on the pet tab, right click and hit “refresh”.
-If your computer or program crashes, you can usually resume by hitting the “turn” button again after it reloads (just don’t click on anything else).
-Pets with attack modifiers (like Flayer Youngling) should be put on passive and used as a finisher instead using Kill Command.
Conclusion
It’s best to do this around turn speed 95 with a very fast arcane shot timer, but you can play around with turn speeds and finishers.
It takes a lot of patience to set up, so good luck!
If your computer is powerful enough to run two clients at once, it might be worth switching from soloing an instance to doing this! Just remember, the more you have going on at once, the higher your risk of crashing. Be sure to check your computer’s cooling and power settings so that it doesn’t overheat or turn off for any reason.
